Fuchou leads the Single‑Cell Biology and Genetics Lab at the Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Genomics at Peking University. A pioneer in single‑cell genomics, his work has advanced our understanding of mammalian development, stem cell biology, and reproductive biology through innovative methods including single‑cell sequencing and lineage tracing.

His research has contributed key insights into early embryonic development, gametogenesis, and cellular heterogeneity, and he has authored numerous high‑impact publications in the field. His work bridges fundamental biology and translational applications in human health.

Fuchou is currently a Professor at BIOPIC, College of Life Sciences, Peking University. He is also Associate Director of Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Genomics (ICG).
